What it does for your operation

In your operation

Teach through assembly and reconfiguration

X2 EDU is designed to be taken apart and reconfigured, giving students access to the hardware as well as the software.

Task performance

Study articulated arm and body motion

The platform has 29 active degrees of freedom, including seven per arm. It supports motion-control experiments across the arms, waist and legs.

Add the sensors the experiment needs

The EDU configuration has no standard RGB camera, RGB-D camera or 3D LiDAR. Its modular hardware supports adding the required sensing.

Configuration

Build a research-specific configuration

Open motion-control and hardware interfaces support custom development, with options for additional compute and end effectors.

Site fit

Test handling within the full-range limit

The arm-load limit is up to 1 kg across the full motion range, excluding the end effector. Up to 3 kg applies only in specified postures.

Will it work at your site?

Before you decide.

Is EDU the same sensing package as Ultra?

No. EDU does not include Ultra's cameras, LiDAR or high-performance compute board; it is a modular motion-control development platform.

What payload should an experiment use?

Use the full-range limit of at most 1 kg, excluding the end effector. The 3 kg maximum is posture-specific.
