What it does for your operation

RFID inventory scanning in a Decathlon retail aisle
In your operation

Replace occasional stock counts with a regular routine

TORY RFID patrols the store and reads compatible merchandise tags. Repeated inventory helps teams investigate missing stock and differences between recorded and observed availability.

Task performance

Read tagged items across shelving

RFID identifies tagged items without relying on a clear view of each printed label. Compatible tags and a reliable product-to-tag mapping are prerequisites for useful inventory data.

Site fit

Include the stockroom in the inventory route

The robot can inspect sales and storage areas. Map the actual aisles, doors and tag locations so the counting route covers the stock the business wants to reconcile.

Daily operation

Run scheduled counts and return to charge

Autonomous operation and charging allow inventory rounds to be scheduled around store activity. Teams use the management interface to review results rather than escorting each count.

Connected systems

Send count results into the inventory workflow

The ADLER case documents scheduled scans of sales floors and storage areas, with results sent by Wi-Fi to the inventory system. That system uses the count for stock correction and ordering. This is a count-to-system workflow, not a promise of precise shelf coordinates or automatic unreviewed adjustments.

Access & operating limits

Tags
Compatible UHF RFID tags mapped to products.
Coverage
Tag orientation, product materials, shelving and antenna placement affect reading.
Schedule
Route distance, item population, repeat reads and docking time determine a count window.
Routes
At least 800 mm straight passage, with additional turning and stock clearance.
Data
Inventory-system rules govern how observed counts become stock adjustments.

For merchandise carrying compatible UHF RFID tags. The 16-antenna reader collects tag observations along the mapped route. Robot height is not a guaranteed read-height envelope, and reader throughput is not a unique-items-per-hour capacity.

Inventory-system connection

Recorded RFID observations can be retrieved and transferred over Wi-Fi. The receiving inventory system controls stock corrections and replenishment rules; automatic write-back is not assumed.

Before you decide.

What does the 1,000 tags/s figure mean?

It is the reader’s stated maximum read rate, not a promise to count 1,000 different products each second. Route coverage, repeat reads, tag placement and product materials determine a complete inventory.

How does a count become a stock correction?

In the documented ADLER deployment, TORY scans sales and storage areas and transfers results by Wi-Fi to the inventory system. Stock corrections and ordering use that system’s rules; this page does not assume every observation triggers an automatic adjustment.

Can it count products without RFID tags?

No. The RFID workflow needs compatible tags. Camera-based price and shelf inspection is a different configuration.
